September 6, The Iran Project A seniorIraniancleric said on Tuesday that the Two Holy Mosquesbelong to all Muslims and should be governed by an Islamic council.
Referring to the Supreme Leader who slammed unfaithful and unconscientious Saudi rulers for their poor management of last years Hajj, Ayatollah Seyed Hashem Bathaee, a member of the Assembly of Experts stressed on the necessity of governing the mosques by an Islamic council.
Ayatollah Bathaee pointed out that Saudi rulers are not seeking religious purposes in managing the Two Holy Mosquesbut they are looking for the financial goals.
Urging Iran's Foreign Ministry to pay special attention to the Supreme Leaders Hajj message, he said it should consult with the influential Islamic countries on the management of the Two Holy Mosques.
He noted that consulting with the Islamic countries officials and scholars could lead to the formation of a council for managing the mosques, adding the council should consist of representatives of all Muslims and five Islamic schools.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he also called on the international human rights organizations to respond on Riyadhs poor management of last years Hajj tragedies, noting that Saudis performance is not justified legally and religiously .
Leader of Irans Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei issued his message on the occasion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage on Monday.
The Leader blamed Riyadh for its poor management of last years Hajj and urged Muslims to correctly understand their (Saudis) blasphemous, faithless, dependent and materialistic nature.
During last year ceremonies in September 2015, about 5000 pilgrims were killed in a stampede tragedy in Mina which was caused by misconduct of the rituals by Saudi forces. With about 500 Iranians among martyrs, Iranian nation has so far been angry at Saudis.
After execution of a Shia cleric by Saudi rulers, some Iranians stormed Saudi Arabian embassy in Tehran which was later used as a pretext for Riyadh to cut its diplomatic ties with Tehran and has so far refused to cooperate with Iran to make Hajj rituals possible for Iranians.
