Tehran, Sept 6, IRNA - Iran on Tuesday dismissed the accusation made by the hegemonic powers over human rights violations. saying that the death sentences against the drug-traffickers have been in line with the national legal code.
Spokesman of the Supreme National Security Council Keyvan Khosravi said that the hegemonic well-known for their double-standard policies, accuse Iran of violating human rights for the death sentences against drug traffickers and bandits.
Khosravi made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Director General of Mexican News Agency (Notimex) Alejandro Ramos Esquivel in Tehran.
Expansion of relations between Iran and Mexico and understanding between the two nations are significant in the wake of implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Khosravi said.
He called for genuine understanding of the issues and measures being exercised by the Iranian and Mexican governments vis-a-vis the media acting under the hegemonic system distorting the realities.
The JCPOA provided the western media with another opportunity to amend their past mistakes, he said.
Director General of Mexican News Agency (Notimex) Alejandro Ramos Esquivel, for his part, described his visit to Iran as very positive and lauded the country's efforts in breaking news monopoly of the western governments.
Signing a cooperation agreement between the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) with Notimex will be regarded as a good initiative for both sides, he said.
