Tehran, Sept 8 IRNA - The Mina tragedy last year demonstrated the incompetence of Saudi rulers in managing the Hajj pilgrimage, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Wednesday.
He made the remarks in reaction to the recent remarks by Secretary General of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani in support of Saudi dynasty.
Playing blame game will not disclaim the responsibility of Saudi rulers for the bloods of thousands of Muslims killed in the previous year Hajj stampede, Qasemi said.
Al-Zayani's support for the Saudi rulers is in contrast to the Islamic values he urges others to follow, he noted.
Qasemi said that the Hajj tragedy of the previous year showed Saudi rulers incompetence for managing the Hajj pilgrimage.
He urged the secretary general of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council to help establishment of an international fact-finding committee to probe into the last year's Hajj stampede which resulted in the death of thousands of Hajj pilgrims.
