
Iran big cities like Thousands of cities in Asia and Australasia plunged into darkness on Saturday evening to mark�Earth Hour.
since 2007, when 2.2 million residents of�Sydney�participated by turning off all non-essential lights, Earth Hour being held each year in many cities.�Many other cities around the world adopted the event in 2008 and in�2013 Earth Hour is being held on March 23, 2013 from 8:30�p.m. to 9:30�p.m. during participants' local time.
Iran joined Earth Hour in 2011, and Tehran�municipality turned some buildings off for first time. in 2013, some other cities like Isfahan, Rasht and�religious�city of Qom�would join this global event. All events would hold by�municipalities in these cities, also some buildings and squares �would turn off their lights including �2 famous tower, Milad and Azadi in Tehran.
It seems that Iranians are interested in such non-political events and they join�environmental�movements to show another face of Iran.
