MOSCOW, Sep. 14 (MNA) Irans Deputy FM for Arab-African Affairs held talks with Director of Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS) on expansion of ties and research cooperation.
Irans Deputy FM for Arab-African Affairs, Hossein Jaberi Ansari, who arrived in Moscow on Tuesday heading a political delegation, paid a visit to Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS) later in the day and held talks with the ExecutiveDirectorof RISS Leonid Reshetnikov as well as a number of senior experts there.
During the meeting, Jaberi Ansari said thatIran and Russias relations are expanding on favorable grounds, and added the positive impacts of cooperation between Moscow and Tehran are becoming increasingly apparent at the regional level and the cooperation is further expanding in all various fields.
Reshetnikov, while expressing his content over the development of Tehran-Moscow ties, referred to the many commonalities between the two countries, saying historically, the two countries also have common enemies and competitors.
He further voiced his keen interest in expanding research cooperation with the Iranian side.
The Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS) is a major scientific-research and analytical center established by the President of the Russian Federation. RISS deals with, among other things, issues of national security, studying the relationsbetween Russia and other countries, consideringways to resolve crises that threaten global and regional stability, with a special attention to the fight against terrorism.
Hossein JaberiAnsari visited the Russian capital to discuss the latest developments in Syria, particularly the events following the nationwide ceasefire, brokered by Russia and the US, that went into effect on Monday and is expected to hold for the next four days.
