TEHRAN, Sep. 14 (MNA) Terrorists from ISIL and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, formerly known as the Nusra Front, are trying to derail the Syrian peace process with continued missile strikes at the government positions, the Russian military said Tuesday.
A nationwide ceasefire, brokered byMoscow and Washington, came intoforce inSyria atsunset onMonday. If the truce holds fora week, Russian and US air forces will begin coordinated airstrikes atDaesh targets.
"A total of21 strikes atthe government's positions and civilians have been registered inAleppo province, Damascus, Hama, Idlib and Darayya sincethe previous day," Russia's Defense Ministry said ina statement published onits website.
The Russian reconciliation center forSyria said militants had shelled the district where the Aleppo governor resides.
