Russia's Lukoil looks to sign 2 oil fields agreements with Iran in Fall 2017

Russia's Lukoil company plans to sign agreements with Iran on two oil fields in the fall of 2017, the company's president Vagit Alekperov said Friday.

SOCHI (Sputnik) Alekperov said earlier this month that technical studies overthe Ab Teymour and Mansouri fields insouthwestern Iran would be presented tothe National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) inthe nearfuture.

"We hope that legislation will be approved beforethe end ofthe year, somewhere inOctober. We will present basic principles inOctober-November and will be ready todiscuss a specific contract byMay. The expected contract signing is October-November ofnext year," Alekperov said atthe Sochi-2016 forum. He estimated that each ofthe fields contained more than1 billion metric tonnes ofrecoverable oil reserves.
