Hanoi, Oct 6, IRNA � Visiting Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held talks on issues of mutual interests on Thursday.


During the meeting, President Rouhani and Xuan Phuc reviewed ways to foster mutual cooperation and follow up the agreements previously inked between the two capitals.

President Rouhani also attended a luncheon hosted by the Vietnamese prime minister after the meeting.

President Rouhani arrived in Hanoi on Oct. 5 leading a high ranking political and economic delegation on the first leg of his regional tour to South-East Asian nations which will later take him to Malaysia and Thailand respectively.

Earlier in the day, President Rouhani and his Vietnamese counterpart Tran Dai Quang held a meeting during which the Iranian president hoped that his three-day visit to Vietnam will be a turning point for Tehran-Hanoi relations.
