TEHRAN, Oct. 08 (MNA) President Rouhani, in the last leg of his Southeast Asian tour, left Malaysia for Thailand on Saturday.
The trip has so far taken him to the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi as well as Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur; it has been scheduled to conclude in Thailand.
During his visit to Hanoi on Thursday, he held talks with President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong.
Two agreements on IT and removal of visa for special service sectors appliers were also signed during Rouhani's visit to the country.
Regarding his second destination, while leaving Tehran for Hanoi, Rouhani said Malaysia visit aims to repair the bilateral ties, which have unfortunately suffered a decline in recent years. Rouhani has referred to Malaysia as an important and advanced Muslim country in the region, saying Iran has always had good relations with the Malaysian government and nation.
In Kuala Lumpur, Rouhani held meeting with prime minister, Malaysian elites and parliament speaker.
And on the final leg of the tour, Rouhani and his accompanying delegation will attend the 2nd Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit in Bangkok of Thailand.
The summit, entitled One Asia, Diverse Strength, will be held on October 8-10. Currently, ACD comprises 34 countries, including Iran, China, India, Japan, Russia and Turkey.
Rouhani is scheduled to hold several separate meetings with Thai officials on expansion of cooperation.
