Interventionism threats global peace

MNA Irans Hassan Rouhani has received Togolese foreign minister to discuss bilateral ties as well as developments in ME.

Mr. Robert Dussey of Togo heads a delegation of tradesmen and political figures to Tehran and was received by Mr. Rouhani on presidential palace on Monday.

President Rouhani voiced Irans industrial capabilities to provide technical help in Togolese projects in infrastructure including in mining; he then turned to politics and the convoluted state of affairs in Middle East, and believed that Togo would contribute to solving crises in the region through dialogue with Iran, especially tackling the evil of terrorism. Mr. Rouhani however believed that apart from terrorism, interventionism in countries internal affairs was a threat to international peace and security.

An international constellation of organizations should work beyond vested interests to solve extremism and terrorism, he told the meeting. Terrorism and extremism have not been proper devices for hegemonic powers in advancing their interests; extremist circles have been recruiting the unexperienced youth population from among different nations, which should also been addressed, along with efforts to cut logistics and arms support provided actively to terrorists by some specific countries, Rouhani asserted.

Mr. Dussey for his part believed that Tehran-Lom ties would be further improved now that JCPOA had provided ample opportunities and windows for Iran to open to the world. Iran and Togo have similar approaches to the international as well as regional issues, he said, hailing Irans laudable diplomatic dynamism in hitting a deal with world powers to tackle a major threat to the nation, which impressed many countries; today, African continent belongs not to colonialist powers, but to the indigenous people of the continent; Africa at large has welcomed improved ties with Iran; we believe both countries should cooperate in helping with fight against terrorism, Togolese FM said.
