Iran, Denmark urge delivery of humanitarian aid to Yemen, Syria

MNA Iranian deputy FM Jaberi Ansari and his Danish counterpart Lone Wisborg held talks on regional developments in Tehran on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari discussed with Denmarks State Secretary for Foreign Policy, Lone Dencker Wisborg, the various internal, regional and international aspects of the crises in the Middle East, and stressed that the negative meddling role of foreign countries was the main cause for the continuation of the conflicts in the region.

The Iranian diplomat went on to add, certain countries in the region are worried about change and attempt to return the situation to its chaotic state by waging wars and using terrorist groups, but this is impossible.

He urged collective efforts in addressing the Syrian and Yemeni crises, and voiced deep regret and concern at the mass murdering of Yemeni people by Saudi regime.

He also expressed Irans readiness for facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to crisis-effected countries in the region.

Jaberi Ansari then noted the recent positive developments in Lebanon as the country ended its 29-month leadership stalemate on October 31 by electing Michel Aoun as president, adding the new situation in Lebanon not only brings stability and peace to the country itself, but it can also have positive impacts on the general atmosphere of the whole region.

The Danish diplomat, for her part, highlighted the priority of ceasefire in Syria, expressing hope that better conditions would be provided for the realization of a political solution to the Syrian crisis.

She also expressed concern over the catastrophic situation in Syria and Yemen, and urged the facilitation of sending humanitarian aid to these two war-torn countries.

Wisborg further noted the election of Michel Aoun as Lebanons president, voicing hope that the agreement would pave the way for a long-lasting stability in the country.
