IRNA Special Advisor to Majlis Speaker Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Tuesday that Tehran is to continue its constructive path in the region irrespective to US wrong policies.
Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Malaysian Ambassador to Tehran Raja Nushirwan Zaindal Abidin.
The new US president is not predictable and his election proves the hidden realities in the US society, he said.
Democrats did not deal with terrorism in the region seriously and now we have to wait and see how the new US president is to deal with, he said.
Iran pursues its independent policies and spares no efforts to maintain security and stability in the region, he said.
Regretfully, the Saudi approach in dealing with regional developments was not constructive, he said.
Malaysian ambassador for his part said Iran and Malaysia have many things in common.
Election of Trump proved that sentiments of the US people should be taken into consideration, the ambassador said.
