IRNA - Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Gholamali Khoshroo on Monday slammed assassination of the Russian ambassador to Turkey.
Khoshroo expressed sympathy with the people and government of Russia, saying that such measures will only reinforce the political will of countries to fight terrorism and terrorist organizations.
Andrey Karlov, 62, was gunned down by a Turkish police officer while the former was making a speech at the opening ceremony of an art gallery in the Turkish capital. The attacker was later shot dead by the police, media reports said.
According to Ankara governate report, some 3 visitors of the gallery became injured.
