Iran to reform oil transmission network

MNA NIORDC managing director has reported on a change in Irans oil transmission network and launch of new corridors for exports of petroleum products.

On the latest status of exports of the countrys oil products, Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Abbas Kazemi said the daily export volume of Irans oil products has reached an aggregate total of 500 thousand liters per day.

Deputy oil minister said the main obstacles to exports of petroleum products were operational restrictions on transmission of these products to oil export terminals and hubs; accordingly, remodeling of pipelines and oil transference network has kicked off, he asserted.

He went on to highlight that relevant engineering studies and operational activities have got underway on some north-south pipelines stating one project pertains to Ray-Arak-Ahwaz pipeline as it will become a dual pipeline providing the possibility to transport petroleum products from south to north and vice versa.

Isfahan pipeline is the second transmission lines being modified, said Kazemi noting that the project will make it possible to dispatch oil products from Tehran to Ahwaz and Bandar Abbas.

The official underscored that oil industrys main policy was to export and transmit petroleum product via pipeline or railway paths; in parallel with reshaping existing oil pipelines, construction and implementation of some new transmission lines has been also put on the agenda.

He maintained that Bandar Abbas-Rafsanjan pipeline would come on stream in the near future reiterating that the new line will be able to transfer petroleum products both from south to north and the other way round.

NIORDC head said a new path was also defined for gasoline transference from Bandar Abbas to Tehran adding with the countdown to implementation of Setare Khalij Fars Gas Condensates Refinery, a portion of the euro IV gasoline will be deployed to the Iranian capital through the newly-constructed pipeline.

Abbas Kazemi also reported on operation of yet another oil transmission pipeline via which gasoline and gas oil will be separately transferred from north of the country to the south and inversely.
