MNA The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in a statement said all three of its consulates in Turkey will be closed on Wed. following the Mon. terror attack on Russian ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov.
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in a statement announced that the countrys consulates in three Turkish cities of Istanbul, Trabzonand Erzurumwill be closed on Wednesday, December 21, requesting Iranian nationals to avoid visiting these locations for the second day after the Monday assassination of Russian ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov.
The terror attack was carried out by a 22-year-old off-duty police officer named MevlutMert Altintas at the opening ofthe "Russia throughTurks' eyes" photo exhibition. The assailant was shot dead by police in a shoot-out that lasted 15 minutes.
Meanwhile,Irans Foreign Ministry released a statement on Tuesday, advising all Iranian tourists to avoid making unnecessary trips to Turkey until further notice.
