MNA Statistics released by Iran Customs Administration reveals that Italy is the largest European importer of Iranian products in the first nine month of the current year (began March 21, 2016).Accordingly, Italians imported more than 587 thousand tons of Iranian goods, excluding oil and suitcase trade, worth over 385 million dollars in the time span between March 21 to December 20, 2016.
Data of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) indicates that in the nine-month period, Italy ranked first in non-oil imports from Iran among the 40 European Union (EU) countries who bought items from Iran.
Meanwhile, the value of Italys imports from Iran in the corresponding period last year was 464,276,573 dollars showing a 17% decline in the present year.
Italy was followed by Azerbaijan ($302,128,355mn), Germany ($211,065,055mn), Spain ($197,374,672mn) as well as Armenia ($160,872,792mn) who ranked second to fifth as regards import figures from Iran.
Furthermore, Russia ranked sixth with a figure of over 129 million dollars and Britain landed 13th by purchasing more than 30 million dollars of Iranian goods. The 15th position was occupied by France who bought products worth more than 24 million dollars while Switzerland stood at the 19th position with a figure of over 13 million dollars.
Iceland ranked last on the list of 40 importers of Iranian goods for only purchasing items worth 20,370 dollars.
The aggregate total of imports by the 40 European countries in the first nine month of current Iranian calendar year stood at 1,855,492,198 dollars.
European states which have so far imported products from Iran include Iceland, Estonia, Luxembourg, Ireland, Croatia, Finland, Latvia, Cyprus, the Republic of Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Albania, Portugal, Hungary, Belarus, Serbia, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Slovakia, Denmark, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, Greece, Romania, France, Bulgaria, England, Malta, Poland, the Netherlands, Georgia, Belgium, the Russian Federation, Armenia, Spain, Germany, Azerbaijan and Italy.
