Russian first deputy PM, energy minister to visit Iran in near future

TASS- Russias First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov and Energy Minister Alexander Novak are expected to visit Teheran in the immediate future, IRNA said on Sunday, citing Iranian Ambassador to Russian Mehdi Sanai.

According to IRNA, Shuvalovs visit is tasked to improve economic and trade relations between the two countries and to discuss possible expansion of cooperation between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union.

The Russian energy minister is expected to meet with Irans Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zanganeh and other Iranian officials.

The agency did not mention when exactly these visits will take place, saying only they will be part of the program for the extension of trade relations between Iran and Russia.

Apart from that, the Eurasian Economic Commissions Minister of Trade, Veronika Nikishina, is also to visit Iran soon.

According to Mehr agency, a Russian-Iranian business conference is scheduled to be held in Teheran on February 20-22.
