IRNA � President Hassan Rouhani, heading a high-profile delegation including representatives of private sector arrived in Omani capital, Muscat, on Wednesday.


President Rouhani is in Oman upon an invitation by Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said al Said.

The president was welcomed by Omani Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said at the airport.

He will attend an official welcome ceremony by Sultan Qaboos at Al Alam Palace in the coming hours.

Prior to his trip to Oman this morning, President Rouhani said here Wednesday that Iran did welcome the message of the six Persian Gulf littoral states delivered to the country by the Kuwaiti government.

The president said he is to hold talks with officials of two members of the [Persian] Gulf Cooperation Council [P]GCC on issues of mutual interest.
