IRNA � President Hassan Rouhani said in this eastern province on Tuesday that believers in all religions as well as all ethnic groups in Iran are working together for prosperity of the country.

President Rouhani made the remarks while inaugurating a gas distribution project in Zahedan.

While the enemies are fanning the flames of sectarian disputes, the Iranian Shia and Sunni Muslims, Balouch and Sistani ethnic groups are trying for the prosperity of the country in a brotherly and friendly manner.

He also appreciated the people of Sistan-Balouchestan province to help establish peace and tranquility in Iran�s eastern border areas.

The policy of Iranian government is forging good neighborly and brotherly relations with its eastern neighbors including Afghanistan, Pakistan and Oman.

President Rouhani also described expansion of the country's southeastern coastal regions of Makran as the main goal of the Iranian government.

He added several projects would be inaugurated in southeastern port of Chabahar which would increase the capacity of the port from 2.5 million tons to 8.5 million tons.

President Rouhani arrived in southeastern province of Sistan-Balouchestan on Tuesday to inaugurate some development projects in the region.

A number of cabinet ministers and high-ranking officials accompany the president.

The president departs Zahedan for the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, later on Tuesday, to attend the 13th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit.

President Rouhani visits Pakistan upon an official invitation of Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
