Iran resolved to boost bilateral ties with Oman: Deputy FM

Tasnim Iranian First Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi said the Islamic Republic is resolved to strengthen its bilateral ties with Oman.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is serious about forging more consolidated ties with Oman, Sarmadi said Sunday in a meeting with Secretary General of Omans Ministry of Foreign Affairs Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi in Tehran.

Referring to Iranian President Hassan Rouhanis recent visit to the Persian Gulf Arab state, he added that the two nations have the necessary political will to boost their mutual relations.

Hamood Albusaidi, who also doubles Omans governor of Central Bank, for his part, described Tehran-Muscat ties as exemplary in the region.

He further voiced Omans willingness and seriousness to deepen its relations with Iran.

Noting that the central banks of the two countries are continuing their cooperation smoothly, he said the good ties between the two nations will help improve stability and security in the volatile region.

In mid-February, Rouhani, heading a high-ranking delegation, visited the Omani capital of Muscat at the official invitation of Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said.

The president held talks with senior Omani officials and attended a meeting of high-ranking delegations of Iran and Oman.
