MNA Ways for expanding Iran-Latin Americas banking transactions were discussed in a joint session between political managers of LatAm region, JCPOA committee at Foreign Ministry and representatives of Iranian banks.
During the session held at the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, the sides conferred on the presence of Iranian banks overseas and expansion of banking and financial relations between Iran and Latin American countries in the light of the implementation of Irans nuclear deal and the lift of international sanctions.
The change in Irans international position, high security, the political and economic influence of Iran in the Middle East, as well as Irans ample economic opportunities have attracted Latin American countries to develop closer ties with the Islamic Republic, Director General for the Americas at Iran's Foreign Ministry, Mohammad Keshavarz-Zadeh, said during the session.
The Iranian diplomat went on to stress the significance of establishing a working banking mechanism for formation of sustainable, dynamic and balanced economic and trade relations between the two sides.
Keshavarz-Zadeh then referred to Foreign Minister Zarifs visit to six Latin American countries in August 2016 and the holding of several joint economic commissions meetings with the countries in this region as an indicative of thefirm resolve of Irans diplomatic apparatus to further improve economic ties with Latin America.
During the session, representatives of major Iranian banks highlighted the need for receiving political aid from the foreign ministry for the presence of Iranianbanking system on the international scene, particularly in Latin American regin.
