Egypt's security forces detain man allegedly linked to Tanta church blast

Sputnik News- The Egyptian security forces detained a person on suspicion of being involved in the bomb attack on a church in Egypt's Tanta, local media reported Sunday.

According tothe Youm7 outlet, the man was nearthe church atthe moment ofthe blast. He was sent tothe police department forquestioning.

A powerful explosion occurred onSunday duringworship atthe church inTanta, Gharbia province north ofCairo, killing atleast 30 and injuring upto 70 people, according tomedia reports.

Investigation intothe attack has been launched, the prosecutors analyze the data fromthe surveillance cameras. Area nearthe site ofthe explosion was cordoned off. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi ordered military hospitals toaccept those injured inthe blast. Prime Minister ofEgypt Sherif Ismail called the explosion atthe church a terror attack.

A second explosion atthe police training center inTanta reportedly followed the blast inthe church, killing one policemen, however, some media denied the information aboutvictims. The same day, a blast hit a church inEgyptian Alexandria, killing 3 people.
