IRNA President Hassan Rouhani inaugurated here Sunday the phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars Gas Filed in Persian Gulf region.
The aim of inauguration of the phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars is to daily produce 56.6 million cubic meter of gas, 75 tons of gas condensate and 400 tons of sulphur. It also pursues yearly production of one million tons of ethane and 1.02 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
During his day-long stay in Assalouyeh in southern Iranian province of Bushehr, the president is also due to open phases 19, 20 and 21 and a development project of the South Pars Gas Fields oil layer.
To open the mentioned phases and projects, 20-billion-dollar investment has been made.
Irans gas production in the worlds largest gas field of South Pars in the Persian Gulf has become equal to Qatars for the first time since 1991.
It is estimated that the complete development of the South Pars phases will guarantee Irans energy supply; then the country will annually earn 100 billion dollars from it.
