IRNA Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Bahram Qasemi says that certain foreign medias propaganda against the upcoming presidential election in the country is 'fruitless'.
The Iranian nation have proved in recent decades that they follow what they think is of benefit to the country, Qasemi said on Monday at his weekly press briefing while answering a question whether the foreign media attempt to show polarization in Iran election will have any impact on the upcoming event or not.
The foreign media propaganda against the May 19 presidential election in Iran is futile, Qasemi stressed, adding their publicity will affect adversely the massive turnout in the 12th presidential election in the country as the history in the past decades show.
Touching the issue of the July 2015 deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Iran and the world powers, the senior diplomat announced that the two sides representative sare to meet in Vienna on April 25.
Asked about the forthcoming Vienna meeting focusing on the UK disagreement with Irans buying 950 tons of yellow cake from Kazakhstan, Qasemi replied that Britain has been disloyal to the issue regarding the JCPOA.
The talks on the issue will continue, Qasemi underlined, hoping that London would return to its commitments to the international deal.
They (the UK officials) should understand that they are moving against the JCPOA, so they should pay attention to the commitments and remove the problem, Qasemi said.
