Tasnim Foreign Minister of Sweden Margot Wallstrom reaffirmed Europes determination to implement the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a nuclear agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).
In a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for American and European Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi in Stockholm on Monday, Wallstrom said European countries are united and determined to maintain and implement the JCPOA.
She also highlighted the significance of cooperation between Iran and Sweden in diverse fields.
The ranking Iranian diplomat has travelled to Sweden at the invitation of the Scandinavian countrys State Secretary to Minister for Foreign Affairs Annika Soder.
In his meetings with Swedish officials, Takht Ravanchi hailed the good opportunities for closer interaction between Tehran and Stockholm in light of the JCPOA, calling for full implementation of the agreements the two countries have signed during Swedish prime ministers visit to Iran earlier this year.
Heading a political and trade delegation, Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Lofven paid a visit to Tehran in February to become the first Swedish premier visiting Iran.
During his trip, the two countries signed five memoranda of understanding on various issues, such as academic and scientific cooperation, road construction, and telecommunications, as well as women and family issues.
