IRNA Iran's visiting Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan and his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoygu on Thursday underlined the need to maintain Syria's national integrity and sovereignty.
Dehqan is currently in Moscow to attend the 6th Conference on International Security underway in the Russian capital.
He met his Russian counterpart on the sidelines of the security conference.
The two stressed the need for immediate establishment of sustainable peace and security in Syria.
Discussing latest developments in Syria, the Russian and Iranian defense ministers also underlined the necessity of continuation of the ceasefire in that country and spreading it to other parts in Syria.
Dehqan and Shoygu emphasized the need for dispatching humanitarian aid and reliefs teams to war-torn regions in Syria and helping Syrian people find free access to humanitarian aid in all cities.
The two defense ministers further conferred bilateral ties and stressed implementation of military agreements inked between Tehran and Moscow.
Dehqan arrived in Moscow on Tuesday (April 25) to take part in the 6th Conference on International Security which began on Wednesday, attended by high-ranking defense delegations and experts from various countries.
The conference would provide defense officials of participating countries with the opportunity to consult on defense and security issues.
