Pak speaker calls for more measures on Iran-Pak border
IRNA Speaker of Pakistans National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq believes that more measures are still needed to be taken on Iran-Pakistan border line.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq made the comments on Wednesday hours before nine Iranian border guards were martyred by terrorists while patrolling near Iran-Pakistan border line.

Nine Iranian border guards have been martyred by terrorists in Mirjaveh region, in southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan on Wednesday.

The border guards were killed by a number of terrorists in the zero border point from inside Pakistans soil, said a statement released by Police Information Dissemination Center.

Iran said while the attack was made from Pakistans territory, Islamabad should be accountable for it.

Islamabad should be accountable for the presence of terrorist groups in its soil and the outlaw groups operation against Iran from its territory, said spokesman of Irans Foreign Ministry Bahram Qasemi on Thursday reacting to the terrorist incident.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiqs comments were made one day before the Iranian border guards were killed and upon his arrival to the Lahore airport after completing his 5-Day visit to Iran.

He added that Iran has assured it would not allow its soil to be used against Pakistan.

The speaker said that during his meetings with Iranian high officials, both sides have agreed to enhance cooperation between Iran and Pakistan in economic and trade sector along with collaboration between Chabahar and Gwadar ports.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said Iran has shown immense interest in joining the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He said that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani wants peaceful solution to Kashmir dispute. He said that President Rouhani expects Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to help better ties among Muslim nations.

The speaker further added that Iran highly values Pakistans effort to eliminate terrorism.

During his visit to Iran Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also visited the holy cities of Qom and Mashhad.

While in Iran, he met with President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif as well as Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi.
