FM Zarif meets with Afghan counterpart
MNA Mohammad Javad Zarif, who arrived in Kabul on Sunday morning, met and talked with Afghanistans Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani.


Upon arrival in the Afghan capital, Irans Zarif, leading a top-ranking diplomatic delegation, was welcomed by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for Management and Resource Nasir Ahmad Andisha.

Iranian minister of foreign affairs later met with his Afghan counterpart and the two sides shared view on venues for combatting terrorism and sectarianism.

At the joint meeting, Zarif urged both countries to join hands in order to counter ongoing threats.

The two sides will later take part at a joint press conference.

Irans FM is also slated to hold talks with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah, and a number of other senior Afghan officials.

Mohammad Javad Zarifs visit to Kabul pursues several objectives including investigating various aspects of bilateral ties and methods of improving current level of relations between the two sides as well as the most recent regional and international developments.
