IRNA Iranian envoy to Algeria Reza Ameri in a meeting on Wednesday with the Persian Language students at the University of Algiers referred to Persian Language as the language of thought, culture and history.
Calling Persian language as the second language of the Muslim World, Ameri said that Iranians have written scientific documents in Persian since long ago, which makes it more important to learn Persian.
He added learning Persian will help others to get acquainted with the Iranian culture as well as the scientific achievements of the Iranian scientists.
Ameri noted that Persian and Arabic have had peaceful coexistence sine Islam entered Iran in AD 651 (30 AH). He added that the intermixture of the Iranian and Islamic cultures has led to the emergence of the colossal Iranian figures in the countrys history including Hafez, Saadi, Nasir Khosrow, Mulla Sadra, Farabi, and Avicenna.
Other speaker of the meeting was Professor of Persian Language at the University of Algiers Javad Dehqanian who said the Algerian students have warmly welcomed and embraced Persian language and literature.
He added some of the students take Persian language classes in other cities and stand a lot of difficulties to attend their classes.
A noticeable point one could see in the meeting was the presence of professors of Russian language, philosophy, and many others.
