Tension in Arab states ties result of Trump's visit: Iranian MP

IRNA- New tension among Arab states of the region is the result of the US president's recent visit to Saudi Arabia and its interventions, said the Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's Foreign Policy and National Security Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi on Monday.

The first impression of the US President Donald Trumps visit to the region is the recent tension in the countries relations, said Boroujerdi referring to the reports on some Arab states, including Saudi Arabia, severing ties with Qatar.

Boroujerdi, a representative in Irans parliament (Majlis), emphasized that Iran had always stressed any problem in the Middle East should be resolved by the countries of the region.

Other states intervention particularly that of the US as the best known enemy of the Muslim countries with fueling tension in the Islamic work on its agenda, could be of no use in eliminating the problems whatsoever, he added.

The result of Trumps visit to Saudi Arabia was the biggest arms contract; the similar arms that have been used by the Saudi army to kill more than 10,000 Arab Muslims in wa on Yemen i the past two years, according to the Iranian Member of Parliament.

The so-called Saudi-led coalition started military intervention in Yemen in 2015. Now Qatar is expelled from the alliance.

Warning that more negative developments may be unraveling in the region due to Trump's visit, Borojerdi expressed hope that regional states bear the pivotal principle in mind that any problem should be solved by themselves, not by strangers.

The Arab states announced Monday that the reason underlying their decision in cutting ties with Qatar is the countrys support of terrorist organizations.

Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and United Arab Emirates declared that they had closed their borders with Qatar.

The states, as well as Egypt, also warned their citizens on traveling to Qatar, staying there, or even crossing it to another country.
