Xinhua-- Iran men's national soccer team will play a friendly match against Russia as a part of preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The friendly match will be played on Oct. 10, Iran coach Carlos Queiroz was quoted as saying by the state TV on Tuesday.

Iran became the second team to qualify for the 2018 World Cup after beating Uzbekistan 2-0 on Monday.

Brazil was the first team to qualify for next year's World Cup in Russia. Enditem
