Tasnim Irans Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani travelled to South Korea on Monday to attend the second annual meeting of parliament speakers of the Eurasian states.
Heading a delegation of Iranian lawmakers, Larijani will join his counterparts from dozens of Asian and European countries in Seoul for the 3-day conference.
Parliamentary leaders from 25 Asian and European nations are planned to discuss cooperation for Eurasian prosperity in the gathering.
Co-hosted by South Korea's National Assembly and the State Duma, the lower house of Russias legislature, the annual conference is expected to conclude with a joint declaration on closer cooperation for prosperity in the Eurasian region.
Speaking to reporters before departing Tehran, Larijani highlighted the suitable grounds for development of countries in Eurasia given the energy resources and perfect opportunities available in the region.
Unveiling plans for meetings with his counterparts on the sidelines of the conference for talks on bilateral relations, the Iranian speaker said the trip presents a good opportunity to enhance economic interaction between Tehran and Seoul and to stimulate joint investment.
The first edition of the conference was held in Moscow in April 2016.
In addition to an address to the conference in Russia last year, Larijani held meetings with a number of his foreign counterparts and Russian officials on the sidelines of that event.
