IRNA Recent shooting incident in a barrack in Abyek city, in the Iranian province of Qazvin, had no political, security or terrorist incentives, the governor general of the city says.
The shooter, a conscript, most probably was suffering from mental illness, Ali Rahmani told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Monday, adding that preliminary investigations revealed no political, security or terrorist incentives.
Rahmani went on to say that the shooter committed suicide, following the deadly incident.
A conscript in Abyek barrack started shooting other conscripts on Monday evening.
Shooting claimed lives of three other soldiers and left injured six more.
