Sputnik News- The Iranian province of Razavi Khorasan and the Russian Republic of Tatarstan signed on Wednesday a memorandum of understanding on the interregional economic cooperation, Iranian media reported.
The deal signed at the Joint Economic meeting aims at boosting cooperation in the spheres of agriculture, animal husbandry, food production, tourism, academic and scientific domains as well as holding a petrochemical exhibition, the IRNA news agency reported.
According to Tatarstans President Rustam Minnikhanov, the interregional meetings would open new opportunities for developing bilateral ties in the private sector.
The Republic of Tatarstan is one of the biggest Russian regions with a Muslim majority. The republic is consistently developing economic and cultural ties with the Muslim countries.
