Iran adheres to its Intl. commitments: MP

August 1,The Iran Project An Iranian parliamentarian says US seeks to pushIran to violatethe 2015 nuclear agreement with the world powers, stressing that Islamic Republic is committed to the deal and withstands all US actions against the country.

Speaking to a reporter on Tuesday, Deputy Chairman of Parliaments National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Kamal Dehghani Firouzabadisaid JCPOA is an international agreement signed by the US former government, adding all negotiating parties are required to be committed to it according to the UN Security Council resolution.

Sincecoming to power, US president Donald Trumphas intended to bring sanctions back on Tehran by creating an anti-Iran image accusing the country of human rights abuses, supporting terrorism, and provocative missile programs, Dehghani Firouzabadinoted.

He went on to say that despite US pushing Iran to violatethe nuclear agreement, Islamic Republic is complying with all international obligations, stressing the country is ready to respondif the US violatesthe JCPOA.

Given Irans commitments to its obligations under the JCPOA and US insistence to impose new sanctions against the Islamic Republic in breach of a nuclear accord, Americans have become isolated in the international community since the European Union, Russia, China and other Security Council countries are against US policy towards Iran, Iranian lawmaker stated.

On Thursday, the US Senate voted nearly unanimously to impose new sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea

The Senate backed the measure by a margin of 98-2 with strong support from President Donald Trump's fellow Republicans as well as Democrats. The bill will now be sent to the White House for the US president to sign into law or veto.
