IRNA - President Hassan Rouhani said Iran and Kazakhstan will boost ties and cooperation in various fields during the 12th government.


President Rouhani made the remarks Saturday in a meeting with Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov.

Accelerating the implementation of agreements between Iran and Kazakhstan will benefit both sides and the region as well, he said.

President Rouhani said that the two countries are capable of increasing cooperation in energy, railway transportation, transferring tourists and products through Caspian Sea, agriculture and extraterrestrial farming.

He reiterated that there are many projects in oil, gas and petrochemical fields in which Kazakhstan can invest.

President Rouhani urged regional and Central Asian countries, especially Kazakhstan to maintain cooperation in fighting terrorism.

He also expressed Iran's readiness to transfer experiences to Kazakhstan.

Meanwhile, Abdrakhmanov expressed Kazakhstan's readiness to participate in Iran projects.

'Like the Islamic Republic of Iran, we also believe that Caspian Sea should be sea of friendship, cooperation and development.

Abdrakhmanov attended President Rouhani's inauguration ceremony in Tehran.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Thursday gave official seal of approval to President Rouhani who won a landslide victory and was re-elected as next president on May 19 presidential election.

Iranian government declared one day holiday in the capital, Tehran to prepare the grounds for presidential inauguration ceremony.

Several foreign guests, heads of states and high ranking officials, including High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini took part in President's oath-taking ceremony.

Rouhani was re-elected for a second term in office on May 19, for another four years, sweeping over 23 million or 57 percent of the votes.
