Shana -- Iran's export of gas condensate as well as petrochemicals from Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) doubled during President Hassan Rouhani's first term in office.
According to IRNA, Mehdi Yousefi, managing director of PSEEZ, said production of natural gas from the supergiant South Pars Gas Field more than doubled under President Rouhani as several major projects and phases of the field came online in the past three years.
He said production of gas from the field has reached 600 mcm/d from 270mcm/d at the beginning of Rouhani's taking office in 2013.
Yousefif further said Iran is now recovering as much gas from the giant field as Qatar is.
The official further said that 14 petrochemical plants are currently operating at PSEEZ and two others are about to come on-stream.
