President Rouhani due in Majlis Tuesday for proposed ministers

IRNA President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled to attend Majlis (Parliament) confidence vote session Tuesday, Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs Hosseinali Amiri said.

Based on principles 87 and 133 of Iran constitutional law, Rouhani in a letter presented his proposed ministers and he also outlined the 12th Government's programs to Majlis speaker Ali Larijani on August 8, Amiri told Islamic Republic News Agency on Thursday.

According to Majlis regulations, MPs will start giving vote of confidence to ministers after one week, he said.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei last Thursday gave official seal of approval to President Rouhani who won a landslide victory and was re-elected as next president on May 19 presidential election.

Several foreign guests, heads of states and high-ranking officials, including the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini took part in President oath-taking ceremony.

Rouhani was re-elected for a second term in office on May 19, for another four years, sweeping over 23 million or 57 percent of the votes.
