Financial Tribune- Iran exported 6,200 tons of eggs to Afghanistan, Qatar and Iraq during the three months to August 22, the head of the Union of Producers of Egg-Laying Hen said.
Last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2017), egg exports came to halt due to the outbreak of a deadly strain of bird flu in the country and exports were not possible up until May 21, IRNA reported.
Reza Torkashvand also said Iran has managed to replace the chicken killed by the virus and presently production is balanced and smooth.
According to the official, 75,000 tons of eggs are produced in Iran every month.
Irans egg production stood at 940,000 tons last year (March 2016-17).
