MNA First VP Jahangiri extended his congratulations to Iranian volleyball players for claiming third place on FIVB Volleyball Men's World Grand Champions Cup, bringing home a historic medal from the international event.
In his message forwarded following the victory of Iranian men's volleyball team over France, First Vice-President Es'hagh Jahangiri congratulated the players, the national teams crew, the sports community and the people of Iran on winning the first ever world medal by Irans national volleyball team.
He said that defeating such globally powerful teams like Italy, the US and France signifies the high capacity and merit of the countrys youth.
In a breath-taking match on Sunday morning, volleyball outfit of Iran defeated French opponents in a 3-2 win and finished third place to scoop the countrys first ever medal at international competitions.
The Iranian team had scored four wins against Japan, the US, Italy and France and conceded defeat to Brazil, which won the championship title at the event. Italy finished second place.
