Tasnim Irans Air Defense has intensified activities along the countrys western borders, deploying new missile equipment there, a ranking commander said.
Lieutenant Commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base General Alireza Elhami announced on Tuesday that additional missile equipment has been deployed to the Western areas to strengthen the air defense coverage of the border regions.
The Air Defense has enhanced preparedness for decisive response to any act of aggression, he added.
The dispatch of missiles coincides with the military drills that the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have staged along the countrys western border areas.
The Armys Heidar-e-Karrar war game that kicked off along Irans western border areas on Sunday involves various Army units, including the armored units, airborne division, drone squad, and the Ground Forces rapid reaction forces.
The IRGC has also staged another drill in the western provinces. Commanders say the Muharram war game signals the message of peace and security to the friends, and reminds the enemies that the countrys borders will be powerfully protected against hostile moves.
