IRNA - Boris Johnson Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in separate phone conversations with Iranian and American counterparts emphasized London compliance with the July 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
Johnson on Tuesday had telephone conversations with Mohammad Javad Zarif and Rex W. Tillerson US Secretary of State.
British FM in a Tuesday Twitter message, said UK is committed to Iran nuclear deal also known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister Theresa May in a statement has reaffirmed Britains commitment to the Iran deal.
The (prime minister) reaffirmed the UKs strong commitment to the deal alongside our European partners, saying it was vitally important for regional security,' the statement reads, according to Reuters.
It was the culmination of 13 years of painstaking diplomacy and has increased security, both in the region and in the UK. It is these security implications that we continue to encourage the US to consider, it says.
'May and Trump also discussed the need for Britain, the United States and others to work together to counter destabilizing Iranian activity in the region,' the statement says.
'Britain and the United States are two of eight signatories to the deal, along with Iran, China, France, Russia, Germany and the European Union,' it reads.
