SHANA - A member of the Iranian parliament says Iran can "easily" survive any sudden price shock in the oil market.

Gholamali Jafarzadeh, a member of the parliament's planning, budget and calculation committee, said US President Donald Trump's smear campaign against the Islamic Republic of Iran would be to the benefit of the country.

"The best way to counter Trump's assertions is Economic Resilience," the MP said.

He said Iran's economy, as it proved resilient under the sanctions and during the nuclear talks and implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), it still enjoys acceptable prowess.
