SHANA - Iran�s petrochemical output in the first 7 months of the current Iranian calendar year rose by 9% from the same period last year.
Director of Production Control in Iran's National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Alimohammad Bosaghzadeh said Iran�s petrochemical facilities supplied 31 million tons of petrochemicals since March 21 2017, NIPNA reported.
Addressing a meeting of petrochemical executives on Thursday, the official said 10 million tons of the output has been consumed domestically, up 14% year-on-year.
He further said 13 million tons of petrochemical products were also exported during the period fetching the country $6.5 billion in revenues.
Productivity of the petrochemical plants operating in Mahshahr Petrochemical Zone rose by 13% during the period, while the output by Assalouyeh plants rose by only 2%, Bosaghzadeh added.
The production of the facilities operating in other areas of the country rose by 16% during the period, he said.
