MNA Special aide of Parliament Speaker Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey is highly regarded in the fight against terrorism, as well as systematic and continuous political consultations over the current situation in the region.
Turkish Ambassador to Tehran Riza Hakan Tekin and Special aide of Parliament Speaker Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met and discussed on Tuesday, on the eve of the 10th Plenary Session ofAsian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Istanbul.
Amir-Abdollahian, referring to the importance of the parliamentary relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey, said "the further development of parliamentary transactions will play an important role in the development of all-out tiesbetween the two countries."
Pointing to the upcoming meeting of Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Istanbul, Amir-Abdollahian described the event very important during the current sensitive conditions of the region.
He also emphasized the need for comprehensive cooperation between trade-economy sectors of the two countries.
Underlining Iran and Turkey's common views on international and regional issues, he stressed further cooperation within the framework of mutual interests.
Turkish ambassador, for his part, underlined that Turkey is interested in expanding bilateral relationswith the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding "in this context it is important to use the existing capacities."
The two sides emphasized the duty of the Islamic countries regarding the widespread woeful situation of Muslims in Myanmar, the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, and the focus on the political settlement of the issues.
