Iran, EU discuss women’s rights
 IRNA - Vice-President for Women and Family Affairs Ma'soumeh Ebtekar and the European Union's Special Representative for Human Rights Stavros Lambrinidis in a meeting here reviewed women’s rights.


“We discussed maintaining dialogue on women’s rights & exchange of experiences,” Ebtekar said in a Twitter message released on Monday.

Lambrinidis is a member of a delegation from the EU currently in Iran headed by EU deputy foreign policy chief Helga Schmid.

In addition to Lambrinidis, Director General of the International Cooperation and Development of the European Commission Stefano Manservisi and Director General for the European Commission responsible for energy policies Dominique Ristori are the members of the EU delegation.

During a Monday meeting which was co-chaired by Iran's senior nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi and Schmid, different issues such as human rights, energy, trade, banking cooperation, environment, counter terrorism moves and regional questions including the Syrian, Iraqi and Yemeni crises were discussed by both sides.

The EU delegation is now in Isfahan, central Iran to attend negotiations on international nuclear cooperation, progress and prospects.
