IRNA Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi to participate in tripartite summit meeting slated to be held today with Russian and Turkish presdents.
Upon arrival at the Sochi airport, President Rouhani was warmly welcomed by a number of Russian officials and Iran's Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei.
The trilateral negotiations are expected to focus on the achievements made in countering Daesh Takfiri terrorists in Syria and reviewing the future steps for restoring peace in this Arab country.
The visit to Russia is made upon an invitation by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Several high-ranking Iranian officials including Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif, Vice President for Economic Affairs Mohammad Nahavandian, Vice-President Hesamoddin Ashna, and Advisor to President Hamid Abutalebi are accompanying Presdent Rouhani during his one-day visit.
While in Sochi, President Rouhani will also hold bilateral talks with his Russian and Turkish counterparts.
