FNA - An oil tanker of the National Iranian Tanker Company rescued 5 Sri Lankan fishers in international waters of the Indian Ocean.
The Sri Lankan fishing ship named VLCC was capsized in the Indian Ocean when the crew asked for the Iranian oil tanker's help.
The relief and rescue operations took 5 hours due to the bad weather conditions and raining, captain of the Iranian oil tanker 'Stream' Mahmoud Baqestani said.
Noting that the 5 Sri Lankan fishers are in good health conditions and have been accommodated in the Iranian oil tanker, he said that they will be extradited to the relevant officials in Chabahar port in Southeastern Iran on December 6.
