IRNA Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council says the Zionist regime of Israel and the US will be held responsible for any instability and insecurity as the consequences of any 'unwise' decision on Al Quds city.
Trump has said he would announce his decision on moving Washington embassy from Tel Aviv to Al Quds city on Wednesday.
His move has set off alarms throughout the world, particularly in Muslim countries.
Ali Shamkhani said on Wednesday, 'Muslim countries unanimously condemn the plot as the violation of the oppressed Palestinians' right and pursuit of occupation by the Zionist regime.'
'They will resist it firmly, using all their political capacities.'
'Al Quds Al Sharif is inseparable part of Palestine,' he said, adding that any decision on the future of Al Quds should be made by its original residents, and no other country can ignore its people's absolute rights to decide on the Muslim country.
Describing the current administration of the US and its president Donald Trump as the 'catalyst for collapse of the Zionist regime', Shamkhani said, 'Al Quds Al Sharif is the capital of the Muslim country Palestine, and Washington cannot distract world's public opinion from its humiliating failures in the region, particularly those of its backed Takfiri terrorists in Iraq and Syria, by creating crises on the holy city.'
Many world leaders have cautioned the US on the negative repurcussions of the move.
Media reports quote Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as warning Washington against recognising Al Quds as the capital of the Zionist regime of Israel.
He was further quoted by the western media as saying that the move would only help terrorists.
