FNA- Senior Iranian and Turkish officials in a meeting in Tehran on Saturday discussed mutual cooperation to reinforce the two countries' security cooperation.
During the meeting in the Iranian capital today, Iranian Deputy Interior Minister Hossein Zolfaqari and Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating security cooperation.
The Iranian deputy interior minister and the Turkish interior minister discussed the expansion of bilateral ties and cooperation in fighting terrorism, mutual security concerns and the most important regional and international issues.
The two sides also held talks on the recent terrorist attack in Northeastern Iran during which an Iranian border guard was killed and 7 other guards and engineers were injured.
Soylu is in Iran at the formal invitation of Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli. The Turkish interior minister is accompanied by Turkish Gendarmerie General Commander Arif Cetin and Selami Alt?nok the General Director of Security.
